MARRCH Board of Governors Application, 2018-2019 Term

MARRCH is now accepting applications for the Board of Governors in even numbered regions, according to Jenine Koziolek, MARRCH Secretary. All MARRCH members in good standing are eligible to nominate, run and serve on the Board.

An official nomination ballot can be found below. Nominees are asked to provide their qualifications and experience to serve on the board and to state why they would like to be considered.

Service on the MARRCH Board provides an opportunity to make a direct contribution to the organization and to be more deeply involved in both setting and working toward the achievement of goals.

Activities of Board of Governors members include:

  • Attend a minimum of 75 percent of board meetings. The Board sets its meeting schedule each year. Generally, the Board meets the first Friday of each month. Board meetings run approximately two and a half hours
  • Participate in at least one committee of the Board
  • Attend an annual two-day Board retreat that includes strategic goal-setting and the annual all-member meeting.
  • Attend at least one conference sponsored by MARRCH each year
  • Respond to and represent viewpoints of members in your region to the MARRCH Board
  • Contribute news to the newsletter from your region

Additional activities encouraged of Board members:

  1. Recruit new members and help renew existing members of MARRCH
  2. Meet with and communicate with legislators, especially from your region, to inform them of MARRCH’s goals
  3. Motivate members in your region to actively support MARRCH and its goals
  4. Devote time to Public Policy as needed

Board service is a two-year term. Even-numbered regions elect Board members to serve terms beginning in even-numbered years and odd-numbered regions elect Board members to begin terms in odd-numbered years. Regional Governors are elected from geographic regions by the Voting Members whose principal place of employment is located in each of the MARRCH regions. See the Regions outlined here.

The deadline to submit an application is October 1, 2017.

The election ballot for service on the Board for 2018-2019 will be available at the MARRCH Annual Conference, Oct. 30 – Nov. 1, and will be sent to members in the November MARRCH One Voice Newsletter. New board members will be seated at the Board of Governors meeting in December 2017. Board members are not paid for their service but do receive complimentary registration to MARRCH events.

The Nominations Committee consists of Jenine Koziolek, Fountain Centers, MARRCH Secretary; Tina Silverness, Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment; and Brianna Hurley, Metro State University.

Nominees are asked to provide their qualifications and experience to serve on the board and to state why they would like to be considered. Board members serve based on their principal place of employment and/or residence within a specific region.
